A Color Palette of Marigold, Yellow, Green & Grey

A little wedding inspiration today, and a quick post.  I am off to a long day of coffee dates and meetings, then craft night tonight!  Come to think of it, this is going to be a day filled with all my favorite things!

I created this color palette for a client’s wedding in April.  She was thinking about an “Earthy” feeling to her wedding, using colors like Yellow with Green accents, but worried it didn’t look like Springtime.  I thought the contrary, that this color palette, with several shades of yellow and a neutral, could be very Spring-like.

To me, the color scheme should be one of the first things you decide on.  It may seem like a non-important aspect, but it will help you decide on so many factors in your wedding.  If your color palette is very modern and bright, you probably aren’t going to go with a traditional style cake, or an ornate ballroom setting.  Not to say that bright and modern colors would look funny in an ornate ballroom setting, but most likely, you don’t have the type of personality that would choose a ballroom setting (generally).

Your color palette will also help when it’s time to share ideas with vendors.  If you are using a lighting specialist, you can share the colors with them, same with the baker, the bridal gown shop for your bridesmaid dresses, etc.  Things will start coming together, trust me.

And what’s a color palette without a mood board?
