Vendor Vail Wednesdays~ Blue Steel Lighting

Welcome to another Wednesday post everyone!  This week has been a bit odd for me, so it is great to have something regular to post about and look forward to!

Thank you SO VERY MUCH to Veronica at Petites Bouchees for her feature last week.  I love her best for her amazing Macarons that she creates {and have been craving since last week’s post} and now have her amazine pie pops to add to that list.  I don’t have a sweet tooth, but her desserts make me want to grow one.  Thank you also Veronica for providing a giveaway for 1 dozen Pie Pops!  Now to draw the winner- congratulations to Margaret for winning the pie pops! {drawn from Random.org. Comment # 6}  Please contact me within the next 48 hours to recieve information on how to redeem your prize.

This week I am very excited to feature a vendor who can work wonders with an event space and turn a beautiful room into an extraordinary room with the flip of a switch.  Please also join me for the rest of the week as I talk about the importance of event lighting and what it can do for you.  While it does not compare to the wow factor that Blue Steel Lighting can create, I will also share a few lighting DIY’s that can add some wow to your wedding and event on Honeydew It Yourself Fridays. So without further adieu I would like to welcome Blue Steel Lighting to our VVW family!

Blue Steel Light Design specializes in wedding and event lighting, assisting brides with setting the mood for their Big Day, as well as transforming the venue with lighting accents that are impactful, unique and exciting for events.

Blue Steel Lighting Design was initially conceived in response to owner Jeremy Kilgore’s wife’s (and Virginia Beach Wedding Planner) need for showcasing amazing wedding details, which often become lost in a dark ballroom or tented area. Five years, a company name that honors Kilgore’s beloved Zoolander and hundreds of events later, Blue Steel is the premier wedding and event lighting studio in Virginia.

Their flagship office resides in Virginia Beach and this past Spring, Blue Steel Lighting Design opened the doors to its Richmond office on Ackley Avenue. Since then, Blue Steel can be found all over the city- from the historical downtown hotels to the museums and plantations.

Rachel Butler first began working for Blue Steel in April of 2010 and currently services the Richmond area. At the initial meeting, she will work with brides to set the “stage” for their event- from their “walk in” look used to wow the guests upon arrival, to changing the color of the room for the First Dance to the custom monogram that can be displayed on the dance floor throughout the evening.

While Rachel is on site for all of her weddings, she is joined by trained technicians who will remain for the duration of the event. Since they stay with the party, they are able to program “on the fly” to create the fun party atmosphere that brides and grooms hope to achieve for their wedding guests.

Recently, their Richmond weddings have been featured in Richmond Weddings Magazine and Celebrations and they have also garnered press from Richmond Bride Magazine, as well as the Richmond Times Dispatch. Their Richmond design team was also featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs.

Thank you so much Blue Steel!

Happy Planning~
