Vendor Vail Wednesdays~ Historic Mankin Mansion

Happy Wednesday everyone!  The week is wizzing by with so much to do before I head down South for Christmas!  Also, I have a really big project that will be completed on Tuesday, and I will be glad to have it done and over with to be honest with you.  I’ll share more on this later, promise.

It is time to announce the winner of Lolah POP! Vintage Baby’s reversible Santa apron!  I just can’t help imagining some sweet child opening this gift and using it to make Christmas cookies or a gingerbread house…. Can’t wait to hear their story from whoever wins!  So congratulations to comment #25- Ang Alford!  I’m sure you’ll be ecstatic to win Ang, you really kept up with the entries for this contest.  Ang said “I would give it to my daughter as a birthday gift , (or Christmas) she will be two on the 18th and she has become quite the little chef , the skills she has at cooking are amazing for her age !! She works a spatula better than I do (: So this would be the perfect gift she LOVES aprons , but doesn’t have any as gorgeous as this !! She loves pretty prints too , dots (balls) are her favorite !!” in a previous entry.  Congratulations!

Today’s VVW vendor is quickly becoming a premier and popular venue in the Richmond area for weddings and events.  Please welcome The Historic Mankin Mansion as today’s vendor!

Paula and Martin Ramirez first moved to the area in 2004 from California, with their sights set on opening a wedding resort on the East Coast. They came across and won a bid on a dilapidated property and they spent two years lovingly restoring Historic Mankin Mansion to its original grandeur.

As Paula says, “Bringing it back to life and filling it with love and celebration has been a very humbling and gratifying experience.”

Since it officially opened its doors to brides and their loved ones in 2006, Historic Mankin Mansion has hosted hundreds of garden weddings April through October each year for up to 200 wedding guests.  Full service wedding planning is included for all brides and grooms with the hope to provide brides and grooms with a warm, welcoming and elegant environment to celebrate the best day of their lives.

One Day Wedding or Weekend Wedding Packages are offered at the estate, with the latter offering guests the comfort of overnight stays for a destination-style celebration.

In the last year, the Mansion has been honored as one of Richmond’s “Best Hidden Gems” by Style Weekly, while Proprietor and House DJ Martin Ramirez has been named as one of the Best Richmond DJ’s by Richmond Magazine.  They have also enjoyed recent press in Style Me Pretty, as well as the Richmond Times Dispatch, Richmond Weddings Magazine, Premier Bride Richmond and Richmond Bride Magazine.
So what’s next for Historic Mankin Mansion as they gear up for a busy wedding season 2012?

In addition to expanding the wedding planning team to two more in the coming season, the Mansion is also now offering Friday weddings on weekends that have not been booked by weekend wedding packages.  They are also gearing up for their second annual “Best of” series on their blog, where they will be featuring the top images from the 2011 wedding season.
